Role and Responsibilities: As a web designer, my role involved collaborating with channel departments to understand their specific requirements and aligning them with the overall business goals. I conducted user interviews and research to gather feedback and insights, which informed the design decisions. Analyzing data from Google Analytics helped identify areas for improvement in key website metrics. Furthermore, I worked closely with content teams to ensure content alignment with design guidelines and periodically reviewed and adjusted content to maintain consistency. Approach: The approach involved creating a cohesive design system that could be applied across all channels while accommodating each channel's unique identity and content requirements. I began by conducting thorough research into user preferences, behaviors, and device usage patterns. This informed the creation of wireframes and prototypes that were tested for usability and user satisfaction. Iterative design cycles allowed for refinement based on user feedback and analytics data. Challenges: One challenge was balancing the need for consistency across channels with the need to cater to each channel's specific audience and content. Collaborating with different departments and content creators to ensure adherence to design guidelines and maintain consistency posed another challenge. Additionally, staying updated with evolving user preferences and device usage trends required ongoing monitoring and adaptation. Solution: The solution involved developing a flexible design system that allowed for customization while maintaining coherence across channels. By incorporating user feedback and analytics insights, we optimized the user experience and improved key metrics such as engagement and retention. Regular communication and collaboration with content teams ensured that the design and content remained aligned with business objectives and user expectations. Outcome: The redesigned websites successfully met the business needs of 1+ Media Group's channels, providing a unified and user-friendly experience across devices.
